What is the Virtual Telescope
The Virtual Telescope is an advanced service provided by the Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory and managed by Gianluca Masi. It consists in several, *real* robotic telescopes, remotely available in real-time over the Internet, both for research and fun. Despite the technologically advanced instrumentation, prices are the cheapest available, and we also offer special introductory rates: this is because it's not a commercial enterprise, but a way for us to support our own scientific and public activities, as well as technological upgrades. This project differs from the few other similar facilities thanks to its completeness and variety of services and because of the support provided by professional astrophysicists. The available instruments can fit the professional standards as well as the needs of those with an interest for the Universe. The Virtual Telescope also offers live shows and astronomical Labs, in real-time or with archived material (the latter being free). Of course, students and teachers can find in the Virtual Telescope a wonderful support while studing Astronomy and the many sciences involved. For new users, a special welcome package is available. Some astronomical courses are also under development. Users can join the mailing list and our Forum. A FAQ is also available. In these pages all the information to discover and use this service at its best are available. For any question, do not hesitate to contact the staff |
