NGC 6888 - The Virtual Telescope - Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory


	NGC 6888 - Cyg Click on the image above for the highest resolution NGC 6888, also know as "Crescent Nebula". It looks like a cosmic bubble about 25 light-years across, blown by winds from its central, bright, massive star.It was discovered by W. Herschel in 1792. This image was captured with the Planewave 17" unit, part of the Virtual Telescope Project. A total of 20 exposures, with 5 minutes of integration each, were averaged. Images were taken through a Baader Planetarium H-Alpha filter (7nm) and were unguided, completely trusting the Paramount ME mount, by Software Bisque. The CCD camera is a SBIG STL-6303E. The image scale is of 0.9 "/pixel.
