First important scientific result
Few days after its official presentation, the Virtual Telescope has collected its first, important scientific result. The main telescope has been used as part of an international campaign to study the asteroid (2754) Efimov. Thanks to the very accurate photometric measurements collected with the instruments of the Virtual Telescope project, the undersigned contributed to the discovery and characterization of the asteroid mentioned above. . The discovery has been announced by the International Astronomical Union on the CBET 617 Circular (password needed). No better start could be desired: it is not the first discovery done at the Bellatrix Observatory, but it is the first observing remotely, in line with the philosophy of the Virtual Telescope.
